TwitterPing, Check Twitter Server Response Times. 6

TwitterPing is something I put together for myself back when Twitter services were up and down a lot. I still find it pretty useful when it looks like Twitter is acting a bit slow or odd. It can give you a very clear picture of how quickly (or slowly!) Twitter is responding to third party clients and applications.

Check out the web page directly: TwitterPing
Add it to your iGoogle Page:
Add to Google

As with all of the gadgets and apps on 32Hours, please feel free to put them on any web page you like.

Thanks,
Robert

    Created to help promote our championship we struggle to get our site above water. I mean we are the host origination and yet we can’t garner the traffic needed to tell people whats official and whats not. The event is May 23rd, 2009, What do we do?

    Is there a way to change either the font color or the background? If the page’s background is black- you cant see the text!

    Hi Janet.

    I just added the ability to choose background and font colors if you are using TwitterPing in a web page. Try this:

    http://betwittered.com/twitterping/index.html?bg=black&color=white

    where:
    bg = background color
    color = font color

    Any valid html color codes will work, for example bg=FFFFFF color=000000

    This will not work in iGoogle, but I can setup a preference for that too. Let me know if it is in iGoogle that you are having the issue, I did assume it was for a web page you control (yes, I know what assuming makes me, I’ve already resigned myself to that reality!)

    Thanks,
    Robert

    Hi Liam,

    Thanks for the note. I really appreciate it. As I’m gearing up to start working today, everything appears OK. Is it back up for you, too?

    Anyone else having troubles getting to the server? If so, please let me know, and if you don’t mind, also let me know what country or region you are in.

    Thanks,
    Robert
